TCF Canada Exam Fees in India: 2026 Cost Breakdown

TCF Canada is offered in India through approved test centers — primarily Alliance Française branches in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh. Each center sets and collects its own fee, so the exact amount varies by city and can change without much notice. Treat the figures below as a planning estimate, and confirm the current price directly with your nearest center before you register.

Approximate fee

Candidates commonly report paying somewhere in the range of ₹25,000–28,000 (including GST) for the full four-skill TCF Canada test — roughly USD $300–340 depending on the exchange rate and center. Some centers price slightly higher or lower, and promotional periods or early-registration discounts can shift the number too.

What's included

The standard fee covers all four skills used for Express Entry and most Canadian economic immigration programs: compréhension orale (listening), compréhension écrite (reading), expression orale (speaking), and expression écrite (writing). A few centers allow listening-and-reading-only registration at a lower price if that's all a specific program requires — check what your target program needs before you register for a partial test, since most immigration pathways require all four.

Payment and GST

Fees quoted by Indian centers are typically inclusive of GST, but confirm this when you register — some centers list the base fee and add tax separately. Payment is usually made directly to the test center (bank transfer, card, or an online payment link), not to France Éducation International directly. Keep your payment receipt; you'll generally need it to confirm your booking and may need it again if you request a transfer or refund.

Extra costs to budget for

  • Retake fees.If your score doesn't hit the CLB band you need, a retake means paying the full fee again — there's no discounted repeat rate.
  • Cancellation or rescheduling fees. Many centers charge a non-refundable fee if you cancel or change your date after registering — check the specific center's policy before you book.
  • Travel. If there's no center in your city, factor in travel and possibly an overnight stay for exam day.
  • Prep courses or tutoring. Optional, but common if you go beyond self-study.

How to avoid paying twice

The biggest cost-control lever is knowing roughly where you stand before you register, so you don't book the exam too early and pay for a retake. Our free CLB estimate mini-test and free practice questions are built for exactly that — get a sense of your level at no cost before committing to an official test date and fee.
